I need a full, steady-state Aspen HYSYS model for the industrial synthesis of methyl methacrylate (MMA). My priority is clear: model the entire process in enough detail to maximise overall yield while allowing Aspen to generate reliable capital (CapEx) and operating (OpEx) cost estimates. Once the simulation converges, I want the economics exported through Aspen’s costing tools (Economic Analyzer / Activated Economics workspace) so that I can see the breakdown of major equipment, utilities and annual cash flows. Scope of work • Build or refine the HYSYS flowsheet from raw materials to synthsis MMA from Natural Gas, Methanol, including reaction, separation and energy-recovery sections as needed for a realistic plant design. • Calibrate the model with appropriate thermodynamic packages, stoichiometry and any available kinetic or equilibrium data so that performance targets can be met. • Run sensitivity studies that point to the operating window giving the highest feasible yield. • Activate Aspen’s economic evaluation, size the equipment automatically, and produce the full cost report (CapEx, variable and fixed OpEx, utility summaries, and key financial indicators such as NPV or payback). • Deliver the native HYSYS file, the costing workbook, and a short summary slide/report highlighting assumptions, yield achieved and the headline economic figures. Acceptance The model must converge without manual recycles, show material-and-energy balance closure, and all cost tables must be reproducible by simply reopening the delivered files in Aspen. If you have recent experience modelling MMA or similar acrylic monomer processes in Aspen and can turn around a clean, well-documented simulation, I’m ready to start right away.
