Our organization will be receiving a donation of funds for a closed-loop geothermal heated and cooling system. The system will go into a brand new 50x70 x 17 pre-engineered steel building. We are currently working on the heating and cooling loads to get an idea of what will be needed.
To qualify for this job all engineering must be done to New York State Building code. The selected engineer will be responsible for the design of a complete turn-key closed-loop geothermal system for this specific structure and location. The engineer will also coordinate with the foundation engineer so that all required openings in the foundation and slab are located as part of the overall blueprints for the structure. The design will include but is not limited to the exchange system, duct work, site location, incorporation into site plan, excavation/drilling requirements, power requirements to operate the system, and coordination with foundation design and other cooperating engineers or contractors.
You will be required to submit a preliminary concept and design prior to full mechanical drawings so that we can finalize the concept and details prior to final drawings.
The drawing will be reviewed by a NYS licensed engineer. Any minor changes such as duct work location, entrance and exits of inflow or outflow, within the same final drawing will be the bidder’s responsibility. Any changes that need to occur to meet New York State Building code will be the bidder’s responsibility.
Drawing will be done and provided in autocad and PDF for review or editing.
Bidders with a NYS seal is ideal but not required.
