The company in Germany that I am dealing with has a very large archive of machine and spare parts drawings which need to be now stored in a structured PDM system such as VAULT. At the moment is using a very old PDM software called Compass (see link [login to view URL] ) which needs to be phased out.
There are about 12,000 or more drawings, material specifications, parts lists and related technical documents - about 70% are digitised and the rest are still in paper format.
The engineers use front end tools such as AutoCAD 2016 (see [login to view URL] ) which we will migrate to Auto-CAD 2021 soon. They also use Inventor (see [login to view URL]). Both are AutoDesk products.
Now the company wishes to migrate from Compass to VAULT (see [login to view URL] ) for the back-end product data storage and management.
For this hey are looking for some guidance and assistance initially to setup the VAULT sys-tem and do a proof-of-concept and then if it all works undertake the project to migrate all the digitised documents. Subsequently we can explore how to include the paper drawings.
