I am about to start a side-extension with a new basement at 2 St Dunstans Avenue, W6, and I need a seasoned structural engineer to take charge of the structural package from now until completion (roughly six to nine months on a fixed-fee basis). Your biggest focus will be bringing the structural design across the finish line: finalising the GA drawings, RC details and all structural calculations, then signing off the foundation, retaining wall and underpinning solutions once the latest site-investigation figures are in. The plot is flanked by several close-proximity properties, so every detail must be checked for movement control and party-wall implications. I expect regular, weekly coordination with the architect and services consultants, and clear reporting to me and senior management on programme and cost. When construction starts you will visit site, monitor progress, keep Health & Safety files up to date and confirm that all work complies with Building Regulations. I am looking for someone semi-retired, Chartered, and with at least fifteen years of London basement experience who can step straight in and run this with minimal onboarding.
