You are a senior manager in a medium sized organization with functional management and organisational leadership responsibilities.
Please select and research an organisation of your choice to provide brief details of your research in a summary of between 250 to 300 words. Use the results of your research to answer the tasks below.
1.1 Identify and critically evaluate the conceptual grounds on which current perceptions of inter-organisational policy and strategy are based.
1.2 Identify the impact of political structures, culture, language, religion, social custom and belief, ethnicity, ethos and geographical location of current perceptions on inter-organisational strategy.
1.3 Assess how to exploit the potential outcomes if these factors as stated in 1.2 changed.

It can be suggested that religious faith should be a purely private matter and the workplace is purely secular environment. However, under the current laws, it may not be legal to do so. Complete an analysis of the culture and values of your organisation or an organisation of your choice, using a recognised management model. Use your conclusion to discuss the following tasks.
2.1 Assess the role of religion, political structure, cultural norms, ethnicity, ethos, the concept of ‘the state’ the business and economic models and globalisation in the development of inter-organisational policy and strategy.
2.2 Explain how these factors affect the process and participation in decision making to arrive at a consensus view of inter-organisational policy and strategy.

Companies are traditionally been managed with financial returns for shareholders to the fore. Stakeholder theory, however, argues that the interests of all stakeholders – not just those with a financial stake in the business – should be taken into consideration.
Stakeholder thinking suggests that this approach will in fact contribute to the success of the business and ultimately the interests of shareholders.
3.1 Compare and contrast how current stakeholders structure themselves and develop their power and status.
3.2 Develop researched logical, powerful and coherent arguments for discussion with stakeholders and influencers which challenge the status quo in terms of thinking and structures.
