Heavy Equipment Proposal & Cost Specialist

Industrial Proposal & Cost Modeling Specialist (Freelance / Contract) Overview We are seeking an experienced freelance specialist to support the development of technical sales proposals for heavy equipment and mining applications. This role focuses on converting raw technical inputs, cost data, and operational assumptions into clear, professional, client-ready proposals that demonstrate total cost of ownership, cost savings, and operational value. This is not a marketing role. It is analytical, technical, and commercially focused. Scope of Work The successful candidate will support proposals related to heavy equipment retrofits and wear part conversions, including but not limited to excavators, GET systems, and mining applications. Typical deliverables may include: Proposal Development Writing structured sales proposals for industrial and mining customers Creating executive summaries and clear value propositions Translating technical information into business-focused language Costing and Financial Analysis Developing detailed cost breakdowns (parts, labor, retrofit, inventory) Building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models Creating side-by-side comparisons against existing OEM solutions Modeling ongoing cost savings over time Identifying payback periods and long-term value Technical and Operational Inputs Organizing parts breakdowns and retrofit scopes Supporting inventory planning models for ongoing operations Incorporating operational assumptions such as wear life, changeout frequency, and maintenance impacts Tools and Format Excel or Google Sheets for cost models Word or PDF proposals Simple charts and tables to support decision making All final materials must be professional, structured, and suitable for presentation to mine management and procurement teams. What We Will Provide Technical inputs and direction Product information and assumptions Historical context and business objectives Review and feedback at defined milestones You will not be expected to source technical data independently without guidance. Ideal Background We are looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following areas: Industrial or manufacturing financial analysis Capital equipment proposals Mining, heavy equipment, or industrial services Cost modeling and TCO analysis Business or commercial analysis Experience writing proposals for technical or industrial customers is required. Engagement Structure Freelance or subcontract basis Project based or hourly, depending on scope Initial project expected to be a single proposal with opportunity for ongoing work This role has the potential to become repeat, long-term support for the right candidate.
