Our customer has been delivering h.264 digital video encoders to the United States transportation marketplace using slightly customized software that was originally designed as a full featured security DVR (Digital Video Recorder).
Recent sales success combined with some new standards recently adopted by the DOT (Department of Transportation) have led ITV to a decision to build a new software tailored more closely to their needs. There will be many follow in projects after this first one.
There are three subsystems. One is the encoder itself that sits in the traffic cabinet, and connects to the cameras at the traffic intersection. The second is the Data Exchange manager which serves as a router for connections between the encoders and end users (clients). The third component is the end user or client viewer / controller that humans use to access various cameras and control various components of the network.
Project consists of modifying source code we will supply. Major change is to an XML transaction oriented model.
Our preference is for providers in India, especially Chennai, Madruai, or Dindigal due to existing business relationships.
