We are looking for a service provider who can create a software application for a Car Tracking system.
The application is pretty simple and has to do the following:
STAGE 1
The first stage is when the operator (who needs
to log into the system by entering a username and password) adds information about a car which consists of the following fields:
1) Vessel Code
2) POL code
3) POD code
4) Cnee code
5) Agency code
6) Incoming date
7) Term code
8) BL nr
9) Car mark
10) Car type
11) Chassi Nr
12) Car year
13) Park Code
STAGE 2
The second stage is when the operator (who needs
to log into the system) adds/updates the second part of the information (see below) or deletes an entry from the
database (an entry is information added in stage 1)
1) Buyer Code
2) Forw Code
3) Final Dest Code
4) Clearance Nr
5) Outgoing Date
6) Remarks
This means that each entry in the database consists of 2 parts. The first part which is entered in STAGE 1, and part 2 which is entered in STAGE 2
SEARCHING
Once the operator logs in, he can perform the following searches
1)Search by date (can be for incoming or outgoing date)
2)Search by Chassi Nr
The search result always gives a list of car entries where the operator has the following options:
1) to view all the details about the entry (inputed in stage 1 and stage 2 (if available) )
2) to update an entry (stage 2)
3) to delete an entry
USERNAME / PASSWORD
For now the requirment is that the username/password information can be hardcoded into the application. However this requirment might change which means that at the first running of the application this information will be inputed and saved, and also allowed to be updated later by operator (after he logs in)
One important issue which the service provider is expected to deal with is that this application will go on a CD for the client to install, and we need to avoid any duplication of the CD and installing on different computers.
One way which might solve this is to have the client install the application from the CD, after some unique information is read from the computer, the client gets some code which he needs to send by email, and from this code we can generate the password which WILL ONLY work on his computer. This is just a suggestion, any other ideas are welcome.
