ParaView ([login to view URL]) is an open source scientific data visualization system. The system is written in C++, with Qt user interface, CMAKE build control and xml configuration resources. ParaView has an extensive plug-in system for writing new extensions. Plug-ins may optionally include special Qt GUI elements. We have a first version prototype of a plug-in which requires further development. The development steps for this project are: 1. Install ParaView (current SVN source). 2. Install Qt 3. Install CMAKE 4. Build ParaView with shared libraries 5. Install 3rd party format export library SDK Trial version. 6. Setup first version prototype source code (supplied under NDA). 7. Build existing plug-in from source code. Modify and develop plugin to achieve the following: 8. Move settings dialog to new place, such as File->Export Setup menu 9. Add log options (display export messages in log window) 10. Add progress bar during export, do not block UI 11. capture view position and direction transformations 12. add additional page formatting parameters (about 15, list supplied) 13. If multiple 3D view windows in ParaView, export from current selected. 14. persistant resource saving (ParaView State File) of export settings. 15. Scene hierarchy name filtering to generate representative names for actors, using custom hierarchy filter callback. 16. Export current colormap legend as legend onto exported output, next to 3D.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables):
a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
The source code for the plug-in is confidential, owned by the buyer company. Please acknowledge that you agree to keep the starting prototype plug-in code and all versions of the improved plug-in confidential.
Visual Studio 2005 C++ Compiler, Windows XP, code should be generic and portable to linux at a later stage, basically avoid Windows platform dependencies where possible. Skills: Strong C++ programming experience, 3D Geometry, Good systematic development skills, 3D mathematics and geometric transormation skills helpful, familiarity with 3D graphics APIs. Deliverables: Source code, ready for build and test, technical documentation Conditions: Weekly status reports by email, all IPR & code will be owned by buyer, and will remain confidential.
