Job Description:
I am seeking a talented and experienced freelance illustrator to bring to life an enchanting children's book, "The Tale of Mwumba the Weaver and the Birth of the World." The story is set in a magical African landscape and follows the celestial being Mwumba, who weaves the earth, its diverse inhabitants, and the majestic Tree of Life.
Requirements:
Strong illustration skills and a versatile style that combines traditional African art with a touch of whimsy and magic, suitable for children.
Ability to create vibrant, expressive characters and landscapes inspired by African culture, flora, and fauna.
Experience illustrating children's books, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the author to develop and refine illustrations that capture the essence of the story.
Create a series of 14-16 full-page or double-page spreads, along with a captivating front cover image and a small back cover illustration.
Deliver high-quality, print-ready illustrations in the agreed-upon format and timeframe.
