Project 1: Design a sour water stripping unit to remove ammonia and hydrogen sulfide from sour water streams. You can include two to three sour water streams and assume they are coming from different unit operations at different flow rate. Mix all these three streams using a mixing unit (this is not required, still please add this unit if you can). Store the fluid mixture from the mixing unit in a storage tank. The stream that comes out of storage tank should be cooled using water as cooling agent. The cooled sour water from the heat-exchanger should be fed to the stripper. The water from bottom of the stripper should be recycled back to the heat-exchanger (to cool the sour water stream) via a storage tank.
Project 2: Design a distillation column for the separation of propane and propylene from their binary mixtures. You must include two minor unit operations in addition to the Distillation columns. Propylene is one of the most used fine chemical. Please do a literature survey for the initial conditions.
Project 3: Production of ammonia from nitrogen and hydrogen. This project will involve a conversion reaction, flash separator and heat exchanger.
