I have a commercial IR-band Laser device with two output power Modes: NORMAL or full-power, and TRAINING, or restricted power. These modes are NOT user-selectable, and switching can only be accomplished by accessing the Firmware through a proprietary 8-PIN remote access port. I do NOT have the connector or cable for this port. Therefore, the job entails two parts: 1) Gain access to the firmware by creating a custom breakout or wire harness to connect to the 8-PIN remote port, and 2) Establish a connection with the firmware, identify the language used, access the settings and select the alternate power profile. No custom coding, overwriting, or modification of the firmware will be required; you're simply switching from the "LO" settings profile to the "HI" settings profile. The ideal candidate will have experience with uncommon & proprietary connectors, fabricating connections to them, extensive experience with consumer-grade electronics firmware, and at least some experience with consumer or lab-grade Infrared Spectrum Lasers is strongly preferred. Candidate MUST be located in the United States. On satisfactory completion, the candidate will be offered the opportunity to perform this same work on roughly 200 more units at a flat-rate of pay for each. Disclaimer: These devices and their maximum output are governed by the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act ("The FDA"), specifically Chapter V, Subchapter C regarding Electronic Product Radiation Control. The Candidate will not be asked to modify, overwrite, destroy, or alter any proprietary hardware or software, or to violate any law, statute, regulation, restriction, or rule; be it Federal, State, Local, or otherwise.
