I’m looking for a freelancer with proven KiCad and JLCPCB experience to adjust a 54-key split keyboard PCB (TRRS connection between halves). Objective: Convert the current “reversible” PCB into dedicated left and right boards. Ensure the RP2040 Zero is oriented with buttons facing up on both sides. Prepare the project for JLCPCB PCBA prototyping. Scope: Modify the left PCB. Create a dedicated right PCB. Update diode footprints and, only if necessary, Cherry MX hotswap socket footprints. Keep RP2040 Zero and PJ320D as THT parts for later manual soldering. Add and validate JLCPCB Part # in the BOM using in-stock components. Constraints: Do not change PCB dimensions. Do not move switches, RP2040 Zero, or PJ320D. Only diodes can be repositioned (hotswap sockets only if strictly required for manufacturing). Preserve the original electrical functionality. Required deliverables: Final KiCad project (schematic + PCB for both sides). Gerber + drill files. BOM (Ref, value, footprint, MPN, JLCPCB Part #). CPL (Pick and Place file). ERC/DRC with no critical errors. Brief change summary. To apply, please include: Examples of similar KiCad + JLCPCB work. KiCad version you will use. Estimated timeline. Initial technical questions/observations. Estimated timeline: 4–7 days, including 2 rounds of minor revisions.

Hi, I’ve done split keyboard PCB work in KiCad with JLCPCB PCBA prep several times so this . I’ll convert the reversible board into dedicated left and right PCBs, mirror everything correctly, orient the RP2040 Zero buttons-up on both sides, update diode footprints and orientations, and keep the RP2040 Zero and PJ320D as THT parts excluded from PCBA. BOM and CPL will be in JLCPCB’s exact format with validated in-stock part numbers, clean ERC/DRC, and a change summary included. Timeline is 5 days with 2 revision rounds included. Just need the KiCad project files and the version you’re on before I start. Send them over and we can begin.

Hi there, I am an Electronic Systems engineer from IIT Madras and the founder of ZiroEDA, a startup focused on disrupting how fast production-ready PCBs are delivered. I am bidding $15 and committing to a strictly 24-hour turnaround for this project. I can offer this timeline because we use proprietary AI-assisted workflows that allow our human engineers to accelerate layout modifications, component mirroring, and routing far beyond traditional speeds. What this means for you: A meticulously human-validated, dedicated L/R KiCad layout, executed at record speed and perfectly prepped for JLCPCB PCBA. My 24-Hour Execution Plan: 1. L/R Split & Orientation: I will decouple your reversible design into dedicated Left and Right KiCad (v7/v8) projects, re-routing traces to ensure the RP2040 Zero is locked "buttons-up" on both halves without altering board dimensions. 2. JLCPCB PCBA Optimization: I will update the diode footprints and map them to verified, in-stock LCSC part numbers in the BOM. The RP2040 and PJ320D will remain THT as requested. 3. The Final Package: I will deliver error-free DRC/ERC KiCad source files, Gerbers, NC Drill, CPL (Pick & Place), and a JLCPCB-ready BOM. I am offering this rapid turnaround at a baseline cost to demonstrate our workflow and build my 5-star profile here. Send the files, and we will get this done by tomorrow. Best regards, Akshay Founder, ZiroEDA

KiCad version: KiCad 8. I have done this before. A relevant project from my portfolio: a compact multilayer PCB designed in KiCad with custom component footprints, DRC-clean layout, and a full Gerber + BOM package verified through PCBWay fabrication — shipped as a working prototype. The JLCPCB PCBA workflow (BOM with MPN + Part #, CPL, stock verification) is something I apply on every fab-ready project. I have RP2040 Zero modules in stock and can validate the orientation change physically before delivering files. For this project: • Modify left PCB: flip diode footprints to SMT JLCPCB-stocked parts, confirm RP2040 Zero buttons-up orientation, keep all switch/connector positions locked • Create dedicated right PCB as mirror with same constraints • Validate every BOM line against JLCPCB live stock, add Part # column • Generate CPL with correct rotation offsets for JLCPCB pick-and-place • ERC/DRC with zero critical errors, brief change summary included Delivery in 4 days including one revision round. One observation before starting: the PJ320D TRRS footprint orientation on the right half will need mirroring — can you confirm whether audio left/right channel assignment matters for your firmware, or is it symmetric?

As an electronics engineer with a deep understanding of circuit design and prototyping, I am perfectly equipped to tackle your KiCad project. I have extensive experience in PCB design using KiCad and have a strong command over JLCPCB part numbers and relative stock of components. Over the years, I've successfully completed numerous projects that required complex changes to existing designs while ensuring their electrical functionality remains intact—precisely what your project demands. I understand the importance of adhering to project constraints like yours. The skills that set me apart are my fine attention to detail and my ability to problem-solve under pressure. My knowledge of both analog and digital circuitry will prove helpful in repositioning the diodes and hotswap sockets only if necessary. Moreover, my firm grip on languages such as Verilog and VHDL will assist me in confirming the orientation of RP2040 Zero.

Hi there, I am an experienced embedded hardware and firmware developer with a strong background in KiCad and JLCPCB manufacturing workflows. I specialize in high-density layouts and have previously designed multi-layer boards up to six layers, making me well-equipped to handle the routing complexities of a split keyboard. I can efficiently convert your reversible design into dedicated Left and Right PCBs while ensuring the RP2040 Zero orientation meets your "buttons-up" requirement. My focus will be on maintaining your exact physical constraints while optimizing the BOM for JLCPCB's current SMT stock to ensure a seamless PCBA process. My Approach to Your Project: • Precision Layout: I will isolate the halves and flip the RP2040 footprint and diodes without shifting the critical switch or connector . • Design Integrity: I will run full DRC/ERC checks against JLCPCB’s manufacturing capabilities (6-mil trace/space or tighter) to ensure zero production delays. Project Details: • KiCad Version: I use KiCad 10.0 • Deliverables: You will receive a clean project folder with all Gerbers, Drill files, BOM, and CPL files ready for immediate upload to JLCPCB.

Hi, I can help you convert your 54-key split keyboard PCB into dedicated left and right boards while keeping all constraints intact. I have solid experience with KiCad and JLCPCB PCBA workflows, including BOM/CPL preparation and assembly validation. I will ensure the RP2040 Zero is correctly oriented (buttons facing up) on both halves without changing board dimensions or key placement. Diode footprints will be updated for manufacturability, and hotswap sockets will only be adjusted if absolutely necessary. I’ll keep RP2040 Zero and PJ320D as THT for manual soldering as requested. All components in the BOM will include verified in-stock JLCPCB Part numbers to avoid delays. You will receive clean schematic + PCB files, Gerbers, drill files, BOM, CPL, and DRC/ERC reports with no critical errors. I’ll also include a short change summary for clarity. I’ll use KiCad 7/8 (your preference) and can complete this in 4–6 days with 2 revision rounds. Quick question: do you already have a preferred diode package (SOD-123/SOD-323) for JLCPCB assembly? Best regards, @engr_uzairpcb
