I’m developing a small (35x45mm) (10 IC) 6-layer mixed-signal board that will sit inside a handheld medical device, and I already have a first-pass KiCad schematic and PCB layout that passes all ERC/DRC error checks. What I need now is an experienced set of eyes to refine that schematic and carry it through to a production-ready PCB layout. Its based on an ST Micro STM32WBA65R1, so I would also like to verify the 3 SPI and 3 I2C busses, and GPIO's are connected to the appropriate pin. I have the ST Cube Mx .ioc file, which just needs to looking over. *Scope* • Review and clean up the existing KiCad schematic, flagging any component, power-tree, or net-naming issues that could affect a Class II mixed-signal medical design. Its six layers with dual ground planes, a signal and a pwr layer. • Create (or redo) the PCB layout in KiCad, paying close attention to analogue–digital partitioning, ground plane strategy, differential pair routing, controlled impedance, and low-noise power distribution. • Optimize the stack-up for manufacturability and future EMC/EMI testing. • Produce all manufacturing outputs—Gerbers, drill files, pick-and-place, and a BOM tied to realistic lead times. Acceptance The design will be considered complete once it loads error-free in the latest public KiCad release, passes all DRC/ERC tests I provide, and the Gerbers drop straight into JLCPCB’s viewer without red flags. If you have a track record with mixed-signal KiCad boards and ST Micro/Analog Devices components in regulated environments, I’d love to work with you. I will have follow-up projects for debugging and writing firmware for the same project, and if this works out a couple more projects in the pipeline.

Hello, I will review and refine your mixed-signal KiCad design for the 35x45mm board around the STM32WBA65R1, ensuring a production-ready output. I’ll clean up the schematic, fix power trees and net naming, and verify that the 3 SPI and 3 I2C busses and GPIOs map correctly to the ST package pins. I’ll deliver a KiCad layout that cleanly separates analogue and digital areas, optimizes ground planes and power distribution, and considers differential routing, controlled impedance, and manufacturability. The stack-up will be tuned for EMI/EMC tests and ease of fabrication, with a complete Gerber set, drill file, pick-and-place data, and a BOM aligned to realistic lead times. I’ll validate against your ST Cube mx .ioc and ensure error-free load in the latest KiCad version and zero DRC/ERC flags in your tests. If accepted, I can handle follow-on debugging and firmware support for a seamless project flow. What is the single most important electrical constraint you want prioritized (EMI, power integrity, or signal integrity) for the final production layout? Best regards,

Your current design passes ERC/DRC, but mixed-signal medical boards often fail later due to grounding strategy, noise coupling, and manufacturability gaps—I will refine it into a production-safe design. I will review and clean your KiCad schematic, validate STM32WBA65R1 pin mapping (SPI, I2C, GPIO), and fix any power-tree or signal integrity risks. Then I will redesign/optimize the 6-layer PCB with proper analogue–digital separation, dual ground plane strategy, controlled impedance, and low-noise routing. Special focus will be on EMI/EMC readiness, stack-up optimization, and ensuring smooth transition to manufacturing without iteration delays. I have 12+ years of experience in PCB and firmware development, including mixed-signal and medical-grade designs. I have delivered similar STM32 and Analog Devices-based boards with high-speed interfaces, low-noise layouts, and successful production release. One recent project involved a multi-layer mixed-signal board where I resolved grounding and noise issues before fabrication, saving multiple prototype cycles. You already have a strong base; I will eliminate hidden risks that typically appear during fabrication or testing. I am confident to deliver a clean, manufacturable, and EMC-ready design aligned with your acceptance criteria. Regards, Engineer Muhammad Usman, PCB & Firmware Developer

Hi, I will refine your schematic and carry the design through to a PCB layout in compliance with IPC 2221, IEC 60601 1. This ensures the board is optimized for analogue to digital partitioning, controlled impedance, and manufacturability medical applications. 1. Should the SPI/I²C bus verification be cross checked against the CubeMX or also against your firmware? 2. Do you require stack up documentation for EMC/EMI testing included in the final outputs? Project Deliverables 1. Schematics and 6 layer PCB layout in KiCAD 2. Gerbers, drill files, pick and place, BOM I have 7+ years in PCB and schematics. Some of the projects are: • Medical Sensor Interface PCB 8 layer mixed signal design with STM32 microcontroller and dual ground planes. • FPGA Interface Board 6 layer KiCad layout with differential pair routing and controlled impedance. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve reviewed your scope—this is a tight 6-layer mixed-signal medical board, and the real value here is catching subtle issues in ground strategy, power integrity, and bus routing before fabrication. I’ve worked on KiCad designs with STM32 + analog front-ends where EMC and low-noise layout were critical. Approach: 1. Schematic review • Power tree validation (decoupling, sequencing, return paths) • Net naming + domain separation (analog/digital/RF) • Verify SPI/I2C/GPIO mapping vs your STM32WBA65R1 + CubeMX .ioc • Flag anything that could impact EMC or Class II robustness 2. PCB layout (6-layer optimization) • Refine stack-up (GND–SIG–PWR–SIG–GND style) • Clean analog/digital partitioning + single-point references • Controlled impedance + differential pair routing where needed • Tight decoupling placement + current return control • Low-noise power distribution and plane integrity 3. Manufacturability + EMC readiness • DFM for JLCPCB (clearances, vias, assembly) • EMI-conscious routing + stitching vias • Test points for bring-up and validation Deliverables: • Clean KiCad project (DRC/ERC pass) • Gerbers, drill, PnP, BOM (realistic parts) • Stack-up + layout notes for future compliance work Quick question: any RF/BLE antenna on this board (since WBA65), or external module?

Best Mixed-Signal KiCad PCB Design Expert for Handheld Medical Devices! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dear Client, I can help take your current KiCad design from “first-pass complete” to a clean, production-ready board that is easier to prototype and easier to carry into the next stage. My approach would be: 1. review and clean the schematic, power tree, net naming, and STM32WBA65R1 pin/bus usage, including the .ioc file 2. refine or rebuild the 6-layer PCB with proper analogue/digital partitioning, solid ground strategy, low-noise power routing, and manufacturable stack-up decisions 3. deliver a complete handoff package with native KiCad files, BOM, Gerbers, drill files, and pick-and-place outputs ready for fabrication This gives you a board that is not just ERC/DRC-clean, but much better prepared for prototype build and later EMC/EMI work. Two quick questions: 1. Would you prefer a careful refinement of the current layout, or a cleaner redo if that gives a stronger end result? 2. Should the .ioc / pin validation be treated as part of the first pass from day one? If you message me, I can outline the cleanest first step so this moves quickly toward a solid prototype-ready design. Best regards, Prat PCB Must Innovations
