I would treat the footage as the soul of the edit, let the music drive the pacing, and give each creation day its own color identity. Concept and visual direction will be locked first, then rough cut, then grading and polish with clean milestone progression with no rebuilding at the end. One question before so we lock this, is the music already locked, or still being refined, because that determines how tightly the visual pacing can be mapped from the start?
