Interactive Family Genealogy WordPress Site

I have a WordPress-hosted domain waiting to become a polished, easy-to-navigate genealogy archive. My source material—personal letters and photos, hard-bound books, articles, family newsletters, and scrapbooks—are in the process of being scanned, and I need a developer who can transform those files into a living, searchable website that relatives of every age can explore. Here’s the experience I’m after: • Every document must open in an on-page reader with a clear download option so no one struggles to read or save a copy. • Visitors should be able to browse the same content by family line, by time period, or by geographic location, with internal hyperlinks weaving together people, places, and events – and be able to generate limited reports of such data • Data-dense sections need a visible “Summary” area that I can edit in the block editor for quick reference. • A blog/newsletter section should let me post discoveries and accept replies Behind the scenes, custom taxonomies, well-chosen plugins (think PDF or image viewers, lightweight file-download managers, filtering tools), and a clean responsive theme should keep the site fast and intuitive. If you can also set up a straightforward process—whether through Gutenberg, Elementor, or a custom post type template—that lets me upload new scans and tag them correctly without touching code, that will be a big plus. Deliverables are complete when: 1. All existing scans are organized by source and date, and live on the site in the structure above, though I need to be able to easily add new scans and from new sources. 2. Family / Time / Location filters and internal links work as expected. 3. I can add a new document, write its summary, and see it appear automatically in the right places. 4. The site contains adequate image content to maintain viewer interest 5. The site is available only to persons that have been approved by the moderator, so that living persons may be added without undue concern. 6.
