Book - Transcription & Editing

I have a set of recorded voice-notes for my memoir, which leans toward a biographical narrative. I need those recordings accurately transcribed and shaped into a polished chapter that reads naturally in a warm, conversational tone. You’ll start by converting the audio into clean, well-punctuated text, then reorganise, tighten and refine the material so it flows like a cohesive story rather than a raw transcript. Preserving my voice is critical—I want the final draft to feel as if I’m speaking directly to the reader, not as if it’s been ghost-written. Subtle line-editing, light fact-checking against the audio, and smoothing of transitions are all part of the job. Deliverables • Word- or Google-Doc file of the fully edited chapter • A tracked-changes version so I can see every adjustment • Brief editorial notes (one paragraph) explaining any major structural moves or questions Acceptance The chapter should: - Reflect a conversational memoir style - Be free from grammar, spelling and punctuation errors - Run no longer than the original spoken content once filler words are removed - Arrive ready for the next stage of the book’s development without further copy-editing If you’re experienced with memoir or biography editing and comfortable working from audio, I’m ready to send the recordings and outline right away.
