Help a small organization upgrade its software inventory
we have a number of purchased software that we have not upgrade for at least 3- years. They are software COTS (off the shelves) that we purchased licenses for.....example, SQL, ABBYY, Textpad...etc After so many years, we decided it's time to do inventory and decide what to upgrade etc. Before we can proceed, we need help researching and document the impact on the organization for each application. For example, what is the new versions, what's new, platform supported, cost, etc...? Anything that can help us makes the best decision about which software to upgrade.
Anyway, I collected a list of COTS and have started documented some information in a table. I am not looking for too many details, simply enough information to help us decide. Most of the information could be found form the vendor's website.
