Job Title – Reliability Engineer Job Location – Bengaluru, Karnataka Experience – 2 -3 Years Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to support the design, analysis, and qualification of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical (EEE) components for space applications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in FIDES methodology, NSWC reliability models, and NPRD databases, with strong expertise in Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and System Reliability Prediction to ensure mission success in harsh space environments. Key Responsibilities: • Reliability Modeling & Prediction: o Perform reliability analyses using FIDES methodology for EEE components in space environments. o Apply NSWC reliability models and NPRD databases to predict failure rates and assess component reliability. o Conduct System Reliability Predictions at spacecraft and subsystem levels, integrating component-level data into mission-level assessments. o Develop and maintain reliability block diagrams, FMEAs, and FMECAs for spacecraft subsystems. • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA): o Build and analyse fault trees to identify critical failure paths and quantify system-level risks. o Support probabilistic risk assessments using FTA to evaluate redundancy, single-point failures, and mission assurance strategies. o Present FTA results to stakeholders, highlighting key vulnerabilities and mitigation measures. • Data Analysis & Reporting: o Interpret reliability data and generate technical reports for internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., space agencies). o Provide reliability inputs to system-level risk assessments and mission assurance reviews. • Standards & Compliance: o Ensure compliance with ECSS reliability standards for space hardware. o Support qualification and acceptance testing campaigns with reliability-focused assessments. • Cross-functional Collaboration: o Work closely with design, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to embed reliability considerations throughout the product lifecycle. o Provide guidance on part selection, derating, and redundancy strategies for space missions. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related field. • Proven experience applying FIDES methodology in reliability prediction for space or defense systems. • Strong knowledge of NSWC reliability models, NPRD databases, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). • Experience in System Reliability Prediction for complex aerospace systems. • Familiarity with ECSS-Q-HB-30-02A and other space reliability handbooks. • Proficiency in reliability tools (e.g., Reliasoft or equivalent). • Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) engineering in aerospace projects. • Background in EEE component qualification for harsh environments (radiation, thermal cycling, vibration). • Knowledge of probabilistic risk assessment and Monte Carlo simulations for mission reliability.
