The Customer Service / Data Entry Clerk is responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction by providing the utmost best customer service and by providing problem solving resources by taking calls and enters orders for a specific company or customers. Clerks will be expected to answer all incoming calls and or retrieve orders via phone, mail, Internet and in-person. Data entry clerks are expected to carry out a wider range of office administrative functions. Data entry is an essential administrative job that requires accuracy, speed and competency.
Retrieves and inputs orders in a timely and accurate manner
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
Complies or assist in the compilation of statistical information for special reports
Checks inventory to make sure requested product is available
Computes price and any appropriate discounts
Handles customer complaints and double check and translate individual requests to the specific department
Verifies customer information is correct and up-to-date
Notifies appropriate department of order and shipping date
Reviews orders for accuracy and completion
