It's a pretty much simple "copy and paste" task.
I'll ask you to copy specific parts of text from a scanned book (delivered to you in PDF OCR file) and paste it into a Word file.
Here's what needs to be done:
I will send you a scanned and OCR'ed book with a highlighted text in it. Your task would be to find the highlighted passages in the book, select them, copy and then paste them into a Word file. You'll have you to style the pasted text in a simple yet specific way for a better readability.
Since optical character recognition is not the most reliable technology, you'll have to fix some minor spelling mistakes here and there. Nothing major, since the scan quality is really good and OCR should work flawlessly most of the time.
On average a 100 page book will have around 4000 highlighted words. More or less depending on a book at hand. The average book length will be around 200 pages. And you should expect from 4 to 15 books a month, depending on how much time I have to read.
On average, it will take you around 30 or so minutes to extract all the highlighted text from one book (based on my experience).
IMPORTANT: I want you to name your price for 5000 words extracted. This way we'll streamline the process and cut out the time for negotiating price for each and every book separately.
PS. Here's one of the books with highlighted text in it to serve as an example of what you'll be working with:
