I would like this software to be developed for Windows using C# .NET as WPF.
Main window will have fields which are populated from a .XLSX spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet describes several hundred pieces of heavy equipment (farming tractors) which are not all built the same. Some have more options than others, such as GPS or special tires, etc. The user should be able to view all vehicles, or just the ones that have specific criteria.
When the user opens/double-clicks on a specific vehicle, a new window will open which will display the digital paperwork for that vehicle. This will be done with an expandable/hierarchical treeview like the left pane of Windows Explorer. This would be populated from an actual directory structure that corresponds to one piece of equipment. A few real examples of names of equipment are: R56, R57, 301, 302, 303, etc.
If the user has opened equipment "R52", there should be an accessible folder with that exact string as a name. There is a directory on our network which has a folder for each piece of equipment. Inside of the folder will have these folders in it:
When the user selects a folder, the right pane will display a list of all files and folders inside of it. The user should not be able to navigate up to a root directory.
This is the beginning of the project and it will be ongoing. Thank you.
