I need someone who can help teach me Drupal via iChat on the Mac and screensharing. I have been working with Drupal for six months and have a basic understanding of it. Have set up several setups, have a local site I am learning on and prefer not doing it on a "live" site. I want in particular to master image galleries, menus, URL aliases, adapt themes, and uploading folders of files, ie add a number of images in one go, and other things as they crop up. Once I have a site that works the way I need it to, then I need to implement a shopping cart for two other sites and will want help with it.
I don't want someone to do it for me, I want to learn, so being shown what to do, where to go, being able to ask questions, having things explained, is important to me and what I am after. I have read a lot of online help and the Getting Started with Drupal at [url removed, login to view] but lots of things are hazy.
I have also set up a site using Joomla but am a little frustrated with it even though it is infinitely easier to administrate. I am an old time Mac user, have in depth knowledge of css, setting up websites and coding HTML directly with BBEdit. Have set up MySql and PHP before but am not experienced at all there.
This will be an ongoing project for the next few months, as I see it. Probably most "teaching" will be at weekends, or some morning around 9am California time.
I figure that I should pay either by the hour or per time basis, and that around $15/hr seems reasonable? I would like 2-4 a week to begin with and probably max 2 hrs a time, most likely a little less. Both because I have limited time, and wonder how much I can absorb each time. Am open to suggestions, too.
Thank you for your interest in helping me learn Drupal :)
