This job is to design a printed circuit board with an integrated microcontroller to USB B female output, and integrated LEDs, and to program the microcontroller for use as a Musical Instrument Interface (MIDI) Device. The PBC must be designed to meet the dimensional specifications provided, and the design must be ready for manufacturing. The microcontroller must be programmed to output the provided MIDI values, and to illuminate LEDs to visually display on and off states and variable states of inputs.
The design consists of 144 inputs and outputs: 32 potentiometers, 96 buttons, 16 force-sensing resistors, and 144 LEDs (1 LED per pot., button, and FSR).
The responsibilities of this job include the parts selection of microprocessor (Atmega, etc.,) potentiometer, LED, and force-sensing resistor material, for the purpose of meeting design specifications and keeping costs low for manufacturing. A requirement of parts selection includes that the parts be available for purchase in both individual and bulk quantities so that prototypes can be assembled and tested before bulk quantities are purchased. The ideal parts will be balanced between price and quantity- the goal is to keep the cost as low as possible while maintaining a rugged, durable, reliability.
The deliverables of this project must include the Gerber files and other useful schematic files of the PCB, the program file for loading on the microprocessor, and the parts brand, model name (if applicable) and number, and website address (such as a [url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view] link).
*This project is not for being designed on an Arduino or other premade microprocessor PCB, as this will impair design for manufacturing, and increase the cost per unit.
*I am not requiring a Non-disclosure agreement be signed to view this project because the project's primary value lies in the software I've designed for this MIDI control surface to interact with. The control surface layout is of my own design, but without my software system, it does not offer an advantage over whats on the market, and revealing of the software is not necessary for the hardware design.
I'm open to negotiation. I placed this project in the fixed price small project category, but I anticipate it may be a medium project.
