Please note this is just a project to gain interest and get estimate costs, at the moment it is only a prototype concept, so devices don't need to look that great, but what is important is that whatever solution is developed works, as well as is easily mass producible for a low cost, can be low cost for the consumer (eg under $100 for consumer) and is safe.
The device should be very similar to [url removed, login to view], it should be a heart rate monitor, as well as the other sensors of the above device, but importantly accessible via WiFi with bluetooth possibly.
The concept is the base device could be attached to the use, and acts as a bridge between the sensors and the end user device which might be a PC, or smart phone. Example is [url removed, login to view], so some devices could be wired, others wireless and the device would pool all data, and pass it over to an app on the smart phone, or the pc.
The device should somehow pass on the sensor information as well, so that the receiving apps know which sensor it is from (and which base unit). Preventing cross over of wrong sensors etc. The end solution does not need to use just bluetooth, if there are other radio frequencies or protocols i am happy with those to be used provided they are acceptable.
Concept would need:
Dummy app (VB whatever) to show data is received from sensors (nothing pretty).
Base Reciever similar to HealthMonitor and SmHeartLink
Sensors to work with Base Receiver (if possible wireless sensors, but cost is also important)
Base receiver should work without all sensors, so it would be modular and relise when a new sensor is added and pass that information on if a 'pairing' process had taken place, so multiple devices and multiple base units could work in a gym etc.
