We need a circuit designed that will allow us to control 3, 12vdc, 4 wire PWM fans using a minimum of 20KHz frequency. If needed, sample fans will be supplied for testing. The circuit must have a thermistor to allow temperature sensing, a potentiometer to set a minimum fan speed, another potentiometer to set low temperature at which to allow the control to shut the fans off until another potentiometer setting for the temperature that will again actuate the fans.
The circuit should allow a LED to illuminate when power is connected similar to the LED on DVD players and the like. Upon powering on, that LED (presumed RED in color) will turn off and another LED (presumed GREEN) will illuminate. The GREEN LED will continue to be illuminated during sleep mode but flashing intermittently to indicate it is in fact in sleep mode.
It will also be required of the system to remember it's settings and resume it's last operation after an unplanned or accidental power outage.
The circuit should be able to be manufactured using as many surface devices as possible, although if using a PIC micro controller that device would be socketed.
