I don't have the time to test, figure out and write the code to interpret encoders on the back of small motors I bought for a robotics project (see attached images and details).
I need someone to test the motors with the encoders, and create an arduino sketch (with associated libraries) that will:
- allow me to make the motors turn in both directions based on an input (like a switch)
- make the motors turn in both directions at 2 x speeds: slow and fast (using pwm)
- make the motors stop based on an input (like a pressure switch)
I've been using a multi-motor driver shield with 2 x L293D chips (image attached). It's rated at between [url removed, login to view] up to 16v, and as the voltage drops to about [url removed, login to view], running these smaller 3v motors has not been a problem.
I would like to express post you the motor driver shield and the 6 motors so you can test and code.
I've played with driving motors forwards and backwards, and altering their speed using incrementing counters etc, however I really need to capture and see the values coming back from the encoders (in the serial monitor / console window) for position control of the motors. Once I can see those values in the console window (and of course being used by the code itself), I can then use the encoder values to adjust the motor direction and speed.
So, I'd like to use the multi-motor driver connected to the Arduino mega, with 4 motors attached that are powered by an external power supply. There will also be 3 x momentary push-button switches:
- Switch 1: to change motor direction for all 4 motors.
- Switch 2: to change motor speed for all 4 motors.
- Switch 3: to make all 4 motors stop.
