Our processing line needs a reliable counting routine, written in CODESYS, that records the exact number of chickens immediately after slaughtering. At the moment that figure is taken manually and is rarely accurate; I want the PLC to take over so the plant can trace throughput in real-time and feed the data to our existing SCADA screen. The job is focused on one task only: IFM based system to count poultry legs and report daily a total amount of processed birds entering the system. * Sensor to be mounted within the main running line of the Auto cut line positioned post hang on (left of the green personal) * 2 counts to equal 1 bird count * IP rating to be 68 or above for hygiene washdown areas * System to be able to be reset every day via a button that operators can reset * Wiring to be contained with a stainless panel located within the hang on bay area marked with green personal. * System to be expandable Deliverables • CODESYS project file with fully commented ladder or structured text routine • Tag list / memory map showing where the live count and the daily reset are stored • Simple test plan so we can validate accuracy during a dry-run Counter Scope attached with the advertisement.

Hello. 1. What is the expected line speed / maximum legs per minute, so the debounce and edge-detection timing can be designed correctly? 2. How should the PLC handle two leg counts = one bird when one leg is missed, double-detected, or the line stops between two counts? 3. Where should the daily reset button be located logically: physical panel pushbutton only, SCADA reset only, or both with permission/interlock? 4. What data must be sent to SCADA? 5. What exact PLC model/runtime will run the CODESYS program, and what CODESYS version is required? Regards Jeferen

Hello There, As per my understanding you want an automated poultry counting system using CODESYS and IFM sensors to provide accurate real time throughput tracking for your processing line. 1) Will the IFM sensors connect to the PLC via standard digital input or do you prefer IO Link for advanced diagnostics? 2) Does the existing SCADA system support OPC UA or Modbus TCP for pulling the daily totals? 3) Should the daily reset button be a physical industrial push button on the stainless panel or a virtual toggle? I will replace manual errors with a precise digital record giving you total visibility into daily production. You will get a reliable system that withstands high pressure washdowns while ensuring every bird is accounted for accurately. This automation ensures yield data is correct, allowing you to optimize your supply chain and reduce waste without relying on human estimation. I will develop the logic in CODESYS using a robust counter function block designed to divide leg detections by two for an accurate bird count. The hardware will feature an IP69K rated IFM sensor and a stainless enclosure for aggressive hygiene requirements. I will structure the program with modular blocks for easy expansion to additional lines and implement data registers that sync seamlessly with your SCADA via industrial protocols. Best regards, Bharat Joshi

Good morning, I am a Codesys expert with 8 years’ experience. I specialise in creating configurable projects. The project simply involves managing a counter, where n/2 = the number of chickens. Would this require a manual reset by the operator via a SCADA page? I see there are two sensors – is this to provide redundancy in the readings? The project must manage communication with the AL1327 device, to which the two inputs of the O6P301 sensors will be connected, in order to obtain the count and enable the reset function. Which PLC should be used? Do I just need to prepare the code and the SCADA system? If the PLC has a Real-Time Clock, I can also set up production data analysis to track production trends. An automatic daily reset could also be implemented. I am also available to assist with future projects and integrations.
