Requirement and spec for boost circuit.
As part of a larger project, we need to design a boost circuit to be integrated into our bigger project.
Requirements and spec:
* Power - Voltage 13 to 6 VDC supply for a boost power input.
* Circuitry power 3.3 VDC.
* Pre boost enable.
* Boost enable
* 15-20 VDC (charge 4700 uF capacitor) adjustable.
* Sense on capacitor voltage.
* Max input current: 25 mA (optimum).
* Max power consumed per boost ~ 200 micro Ah/boost.
* Boost charge time up to 12 sec.
BOM price must be below 3 USD preferably up to 1.5 USD for 1000 (components only). The component should be from well-known manufacturers.
Mode of operation:
Step one: Pre Boost through a switch (transistor) & resistor V_Bat is loaded to the capacitor until V_CAP=V_Bat-(dv_transistor+dv_diode(if needed)=?). Once pre Boost ended Boost starts until V_CAP setpoint 15-20 VDC.
