I've used Freelancer quite a few times and have always had great success in finding what I needed. I created a new account because I am now working for a company that has a great product but no real advertising/marketing budget to speak of.
Background: The creators of ToothIQ are engineers and dentists - they are not some geeky kids working out of their garage. The site cost millions to create and is 100% free. It includes over 2000 pages of peer-reviewed oral health information and over 75 dental animations. The animations are all produced in-house and cost around $20k each, so you have an idea of the cost that has gone into this project. That having been stated, the traffic to the site is growing to the point that the streaming costs, etc., are becoming too much to absorb so we have been forced into monetizing the site in some manner.
ToothIQPro was created and we now offer our animations (dental videos) for use on dentist's websites. Yes, these same animations are free on ToothIQ but they are only viewable in small screen and they are sponsored by other dentists, which for the most part precludes a dentist from simply sending his/her patients to the "free" content.
The videos are not actually embedded - they are played in a pop window and streamed from our main site. The cost to a dentist is $39 per month plus a $30 setup fee and they can choose any or all of the animations (and we produce the code and will work with their webmaster to implement). We also offer our animations on DVD, iPod and via e-mail through a proprietary control panel, but our main product is offering our animations for use on dental websites.
That having been said, I would like to build a sales force through an affiliate-based and/or commissioned-based sales model. I envision the compensation program as follows for each dentist that signs up:
First month: $20 setup and $25 signup for a total of $55.
2nd-12th month: $10 per month for a total of $110 over 11 months.
Total compensation per dentist signup per year = $165
There are 190,000 dentists in the U.S. alone and 45% have websites. That is a target market of over 80,000 and even if 1/2 already have animations, that is still a very large audience. I have been working locally within Colorado without a budget for 3 weeks and, just by emailing and making phone calls, I have signed up 47 dentists in that time. Based on that number, we would have already paid somebody else $2500 and they would make another $5000 over the next 11 months.
I really don't want to make this an MLM, but I suppose it could evolve into different tiers depending on the experience and know-how of the person running it. In other words, if there is somebody that already has a system in place with salespeople, they could offer x amount of the above-mentioned numbers and keep the rest.
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. We are a legitimate, HON-certified company that is endorsed by the Colorado Dental Association. We have many alliances with universities all over the U.S. and in no way, shape or form will we jeopardize our reputation by doing anything that is not 100% legitimate. We simply need the means to educate dentists about our product in the hope that they will sign up for our animations.
