Most concept-to-prototype builds don't stall at the schematic. They stall at the seams — where firmware meets hardware and a working board meets what a fab will actually produce. Scoping this as one continuous effort instead of a handoff chain is the right call. Why me? - Five years taking ESP32, STM32, and nRF52 designs from schematic to production-ready Gerbers and documented firmware. - Component selection driven by live stock and second-source options to avoid the usual out-of-stock prototype delays. - Schematic, PCB layout, firmware, and DFM all handled in-house with no cross-vendor handoffs. - Daily progress updates and replies within five minutes during work hours. - Two weeks of free post-prototype support after handoff. Let's get on a short call this week to walk through your concept and timeline.

The critical part of projects like this is making hardware, firmware, and manufacturing constraints work together from day one. I've worked on embedded systems where early component choices and PCB layout decisions had a major impact on EMI, power consumption, and prototype reliability, so I prefer to approach the design as a complete product rather than separate hardware and firmware tasks. I'd start by defining the architecture, selecting components with long-term availability in mind, then move into schematic capture, multilayer PCB design, and firmware development in parallel. Communication stacks, sensor integration, RTOS support, and production documentation would all be structured for future revisions and manufacturing. Hardware bring-up, debugging with oscilloscopes/logic analyzers, and prototype validation are also part of my normal workflow. One thing that would help scope the work properly: what is the primary function of the device and which wireless technologies are expected (WiFi, BLE, LoRa, cellular, or something else)?

1. Hook You need a multilayer PCB and firmware that go all the way from prototype to production with clear schematics, Gerbers and a manufacturable BOM. 2. Insight Most projects stall because parts selection and test planning are left until after the prototype works. Choosing available components and test points up front saves weeks and cost. 3. Proof I recently delivered a battery powered STM32 environmental sensor node with BLE and SPI sensors, complete Gerbers, BOM and test procedures for a commercial pilot run. 4. Approach Step 1: define requirements and electrical interfaces and lock the MCU and wireless option Step 2: schematic and multilayer PCB layout with DFM rules and test points Step 3: firmware in C for RTOS or bare metal with UART SPI I2C drivers and OTA if needed Step 4: prototype bring up, hardware debug with oscilloscope and logic analyzer, iterate Step 5: produce production files, BOM with alternatives, and test documentation 5. Client Questions You did not list specific questions. I will need target wireless protocol, power budget and expected production volume early on. 6. CTA Can you share preferred MCU choices or any existing schematics and a target production quantity so I can prepare a preliminary architecture and parts list?
