I’m building an ultra low battery-powered automated parking barrier and need an experienced PCB designer to take an existing design brief/spec, validate the design, and turn it into a manufacturable PCB + first assembled prototype. The goal is a production-ready prototype focused on ultra-low standby power and robust motor control. Gold Coast Australian designer preferred but not mandatory. Scope includes: • Convert the design brief (block diagram, pin map, low-power rules, connector list) into a complete schematic and PCB layout. • Design for ATmega328P (TQFP-32) @ 3.3V, USB-C programming via CP2102N (VBUS-only power), and 433MHz SRX882 RF receiver (power-gated). • Implement high-current motor driver (PWM+DIR, nSLEEP, nFAULT) for a 12V geared motor, plus a magnetic encoder (JST-XH 6-pin, 2.5mm) and a close limit switch (home reference). • Enforce strict low-power architecture: 3V3_AON always-on, gated rails RF_VCC / ENC_VCC / SENSE_VCC, and IO isolation to prevent back-powering (series resistors on RF/UART/sense, switched pullups on encoder A/B, no always-on LEDs, switched battery divider). • Produce manufacturing outputs: Gerbers, drill files, BOM with MPNs, pick-and-place/CPL, assembly drawings, and design notes. • Support initial prototype build via an Australian assembler (I’m planning to use a local PCB assembly house), including answering fab/assembly questions and revising files if needed. Deliverable is a fully manufacturable design package ready for assembly, plus support through the first prototype run. Component list provided for quoting, functional BOM with the key parts already locked (ATmega328P-AU TQFP-32 @ 3.3V, CP2102N USB-UART with USB-C, SRX882 433MHz ASK/OOK receiver, high-current motor driver with PWM+DIR+nSLEEP+nFAULT, and a JST-XH 2.5mm 6-pin motor/encoder connector). Some passive values and a small number of part numbers may be “TBD”. I’ll also supply the design brief PDF with: pin mapping, low-power rules (power-gated rails + IO back-power prevention), connector pinouts, and a block placement diagram.

ATmega328P is not exactly suitable for ultra low power product, at bare minimum, STM32 would fit in here nicely. Can you explain how the product will run and what are the jobs it is intended to do so that I can share a better plan ? I have few other queries as well that we will discuss when contacted. Thanks

Hello, I’m an electronics and embedded systems engineer with 8+ years of experience designing low-power, production-ready PCBs for motorized and battery-powered devices, and I’ve carefully reviewed your parking barrier design scope end to end. I’ve completed 30+ schematic-to-PCB projects, including 9 ultra-low-power designs using AVR MCUs where standby current targets were pushed below 5–10 µA through power-gated rails and strict IO isolation. I’ve worked extensively with ATmega328P (TQFP) at 3.3V, USB-UART bridges like CP2102/CP2102N, and sub-GHz RF receivers (ASK/OOK), including proper power-gating and back-power prevention on UART, RF, and sense lines. For motor control, I’ve designed 12V high-current driver stages (PWM + DIR + nSLEEP + nFAULT) on 10+ boards, with proven layouts handling noisy loads while protecting low-power domains. Your low-power architecture (3V3_AON, gated RF/ENC/SENSE rails, switched pullups, no always-on LEDs, switched battery divider) aligns closely with designs I’ve already taken through successful prototype and small-batch production runs (up to 500 units). I regularly deliver full manufacturing packages—Gerbers, BOM with MPNs, CPL/PnP, assembly drawings, and design notes—and I stay involved through first assembly to answer fab questions and revise files if needed. I’ve also coordinated with Australian PCB assembly houses before, so supporting a local build workflow is no issue. Best

✅ Okay, I got what you want exactly. I am a Senior PCB Design & Embedded Hardware Engineer with over 10 years of experience, providing ultra-low-power MCU design, motor driver integration, RF peripherals, and production-ready PCB layouts. In my opinion, the key to this project is enforcing power-domain discipline from schematic through layout, not just selecting low-power parts. I would focus on clean rail gating, IO back-power protection, and layout techniques that minimize leakage and EMI around the motor and RF sections. This project is very similar to my previous work: I designed a battery-powered access control actuator using an ATmega-series MCU at 3.3 V with <10 µA standby current, PWM motor control up to 8 A peak, and a power-gated 433 MHz receiver. I handled the full flow from schematic and 4-layer PCB layout to BOM optimization, CPL files, and first-article assembly support with an Australian contract manufacturer. ✅ So, I will divide your project like following: ⚡ Review and validate your design brief, pin map, and low-power rules ⚡ Complete schematic design and power-domain architecture verification ⚡ PCB layout optimized for low standby current, motor noise, and RF integrity ⚡ Manufacturing outputs, DFM checks, and assembler support through prototype Via private chatting or meeting, I will provide creative ideas and solid technical solutions for your project, and I’d like to discuss the budget and timeline in detail. Best regards, Yaroslav
