I need a full architecture and layout for an advanced, multi-sensor PCB that will regulate heating, cooling and humidity inside a pharmaceutical machine. The board must interface with temperature, humidity and proximity sensors as standard, while leaving room for additional inputs such as light, pressure, water-level and high/low-voltage detectors. All sensing channels have to support automatic failure detection so the system can trigger the right alarm—heater, compressor, open door, over/under temperature, over/under voltage, pressure deviation—without user intervention. On the connectivity side I want both wired and wireless options: LAN, USB, CAN-Bus and RS-485 for plant integration, plus a wireless link for cloud dashboards. A capable processor with dedicated RAM and non-volatile memory will run the firmware, manage data logging, generate a unique HWID at manufacture, and expose a Modbus-compatible register map to the HMI as well as secure MQTT to the cloud. Built-in self-diagnostics, battery-backed RTC, emergency-stop circuitry and multilayer protection (voltage, temperature, pressure) are mandatory to meet GMP, FDA and ISO expectations for validated environments. Deliverables I will review • Schematic, PCB layout and stack-up (Altium or KiCad) • Complete, production-ready BOM with lifecycle status • Gerber/ODB++ files plus assembly drawings • Firmware skeleton that proves sensor polling, alarm routing and cloud publish/subscribe • Test plan that demonstrates compliance with the protections and self-diagnostics outlined above Acceptance criteria: the board must boot from battery backup, detect removal of any primary sensor within two seconds, shut down heaters within five seconds of an over-temperature event, and stream all status data to the cloud without packet loss on a 100 ms interval. If you have prior experience designing control electronics for regulated pharma or medical equipment, your insight on validation documentation will be especially valuable.

I can tell you I've worked on a product that's fail-safe with a battery backup and ESD/TVS compliances that also has sensor integrations. Important key notes for us to proceed to a design that can also determine the time needed to complete the said design would be: 1. Chemistry of the battery backup, Lithium batteries will require extra care on designing protection circuitries unless a convention is made that only protected battery packs can be used for this backup. 2.
