I have an STM32F407VET board that will drive a completely stand-alone single-axis solar tracker. The controller must perform three key jobs: • Automatic sun tracking – use only a gyroscope/accelerometer (no light or temperature sensors) to predict the sun vector and move two actuators so the panel stays aligned all day. • Manual control override – via push buttons or simple UART commands I can pause the algorithm and jog each axis, then resume tracking instantly. • Data logging and monitoring – record attitude, motor commands, and health metrics to a micro-SD card while simultaneously streaming the same data over UART for live viewing. I expect clean, non-blocking C firmware that compiles in STM32CubeIDE for the F407VET. HAL drivers are fine; FreeRTOS is welcome if you prefer. Please keep the project structured and heavily commented so I can extend it later. Deliverables 1. Full source code, CubeMX .ioc file, and ready-to-flash .bin. 2. Wiring diagram that shows F407 pinout to IMU, H-bridge drivers, limit switches, and SD module. 3. README covering build steps, IMU calibration, and PID gain tuning. Acceptance criteria • Autotracking holds panel within ±2 ° of the computed sun vector throughout a bench-top 24 h simulation. • Manual override responds instantly and hands control back to the algorithm on request. • Log file stores at least 24 h of correct, timestamped records without overflow or corruption. A first working build in two weeks would be ideal so I can integrate with the mechanical platform.

I have done programming for stm32 micro controller, have done arduino based solar tracker. I have used C code to calculate the location based on the current location details and time of day. I have used imu for another project, so in effect I have done programming with all these components. We can discuss.

Hi, I can develop the STM32F407VET firmware for your stand-alone solar tracker with automatic tracking, manual override, SD logging, and UART monitoring. For accurate sun tracking, I would use an astronomical sun-position algorithm based on date/time and site coordinates, while the IMU provides panel attitude feedback. The IMU alone cannot determine the actual sun vector without this time/location reference. I can deliver: • STM32CubeIDE C project • CubeMX .ioc + ready-to-flash .bin • IMU calibration and attitude estimation • Sun-position calculation • PID actuator control • H-bridge + limit-switch handling • Push-button and UART manual jog mode • Instant manual/auto handover • Non-blocking firmware architecture • micro-SD FATFS logging • Timestamped attitude, command and health records • Simultaneous UART telemetry • Fault/limit protection • Wiring/pinout diagram • README for build, calibration and PID tuning I’m comfortable with STM32F4, HAL, FreeRTOS, IMU integration, PID control, SD/FATFS, UART, timers, ADC, GPIO and embedded C. I can target a first working build within 10–14 days and keep the code modular for later expansion. Best regards Ankit

Hi, I've built STM32F4-based motion controllers with IMU fusion and SD logging—this fits well. I'll deliver clean non-blocking C in CubeIDE, FreeRTOS for task separation. Approach: Sun tracking: Use gyro/accel fusion (complementary or Madgwick) to get attitude. Compute sun vector from time + date + latitude/longitude (NOAA algorithm or simplified). Drive two axes via PID to minimize angular error. No light sensors—pure inertial + ephemeris. Manual override: Button ISR + UART command parser. Suspend tracking task, allow jog via PWM, resume instantly on command. State machine handles transitions cleanly. Logging: FreeRTOS task writes timestamped CSV to SD via FatFS (SPI or SDIO). Separate UART task streams same data. Ring buffer prevents overflow. 24h at 1Hz = ~86k records, well within SD capacity. Deliverables: full source + .ioc + .bin, wiring diagram (IMU/H-bridge/limit switches/SD), README with build steps, IMU calibration, PID tuning guide. Timeline: 2 weeks for working build. Milestones: sensor bring-up + fusion -> tracking + PID -> logging + UART -> integration test. Share your IMU model, H-bridge type, and actuator feedback (encoder or open-loop?). I'll confirm fixed price. Regards, ShengLin Gu.

Hi, This project closely matches my **16 years of embedded R&D experience** with STM32, IMU/sensor fusion, motor control, PID, SD logging and non-blocking firmware. I have completed STM32/ESP32 motion-control and industrial automation projects involving actuators, sensors and real-time data logging. I can develop the complete **STM32F407VET CubeMX/CubeIDE firmware** with IMU calibration, attitude estimation, actuator/PID control, manual push-button/UART override, limit switches, SD-card logging and simultaneous UART monitoring. The firmware will use a clean, non-blocking architecture with configurable parameters and separated driver/application layers. I will provide the `.ioc`, complete source, ready-to-flash `.bin`, wiring diagram and README covering calibration and PID tuning. One important technical point: **an IMU alone cannot determine the absolute sun vector**. Time/date and geographic location are required to calculate the astronomical sun position; the IMU provides the panel attitude for alignment. I will implement this correctly rather than relying on an inaccurate IMU-only assumption. I can also validate the ±2° target using a 24-hour simulated sun trajectory and stress-test SD logging for long-duration operation. I read the requirements carefully. I have experience with embedded systems, robotics, Python/CV integration, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, PX4, and hardware-software projects, and I can structure STM32 firmware cleanly for later extension. For the STM32F407VET I would build a non-blocking CubeIDE project with: • STM32 HAL-based C firmware and CubeMX .ioc • IMU interface, calibration, filtering and attitude estimation • Automatic tracking state machine with actuator control and safety limits • Push-button/UART manual override with immediate jog and resume • SD-card logging with timestamped records and robust file handling • Simultaneous UART telemetry for live monitoring • Motor command, attitude and health monitoring • Limit-switch handling and fault states • PID/control parameters separated into configurable modules • .bin firmware, wiring diagram and detailed README One important technical point needs clarification before implementation: an accelerometer/gyroscope can estimate attitude relative to gravity, but it cannot independently determine the absolute sun vector. Reliable sun-vector prediction also requires a reference such as time/date plus geographic location or another external reference. I would therefore validate the proposed tracking method against your bench-top simulation before committing to the ±2° acceptance criterion.

Hi, I can develop the clean, non-blocking STM32F407VET6 firmware for your solar tracker in STM32CubeIDE. With a Ph.D. in Sensor Technology and 6+ years in STM32/C embedded systems, I have built similar closed-loop tracking and multi-sensor DAQ platforms. Technical Implementation: - Sun Vector & IMU Tracking: Astronomical solar algorithm calculating target angle from GPS (NEO-6M NMEA) with automatic fallback to internal RTC + site constants. MPU6050 I2C tilt feedback with +/-1.5 deg deadband and soft-start PWM ramping (300ms) for smooth actuator motion. - Non-Blocking State Machine: 10-20ms control loop handling AUTO_TRACK, MANUAL jog (debounced buttons/UART), STOW_MOVE (park at 90 deg), and safety limits stored in internal Flash. - Telemetry & Logging: Buffered FatFS SD-card timestamped logging + UART streaming, plus Modbus RTU Slave over RS-485 (UART3 with MAX485 DE pin control & DIP switch addressing). Deliverables: 1. Complete STM32CubeIDE source code, .ioc file, and ready-to-flash .bin. 2. Complete Wiring & Pinout Diagram (F407 to IMU, H-bridge, SD card, GPS, RS485). 3. Detailed README for build, IMU calibration, and PID/deadband tuning. I can deliver a working, bench-tested build within 7-10 days. Quick question: Are you interfacing the SD card via SDIO or SPI on your F407 board? Best regards, Dr. Satyendra Vishwakarma
