English-Japanese Game Localization Experts

I’m assembling a small pool of experienced freelance translators to handle ongoing English-to-Japanese localization for an RPG title in Tencent’s portfolio. The work is fully remote and will begin with batches of in-game text, dialogue, and UI/UX strings; marketing copy is handled by a separate team, so your focus stays squarely on the player-facing content. Because the script is rich with cultural references, lore, and genre-specific terminology, I need linguists who can move beyond word-for-word translation and deliver lines that feel native to Japanese gamers while preserving gameplay intent. If you have already lent your voice to at least one released game, please name it so I can check the credits publicly. Minimum expectations • Native Japanese speaker currently residing in Japan • 1+ year of professional game localization experience (RPG preferably) • Valid proof of English proficiency such as TOEFL or IELTS • Comfortable working in common CAT environments (Trados, memoQ, Xbench, etc.) and following glossary/term-base guidelines • Able to comment on cultural nuances and flag items needing developer clarification To apply 1.
