Hello, I don't think this is possible without some chunky caveats. Easiest would be some macro code - catch any changes (straightforward) and then remove any occurrences of the character. You could also search the entire workbook. Easier still though - if it's you doing it, don't type the character. If it's not you, or not your worksheet, a macro might be bad because people have a choice about whether to run it, which you can do nothing (legitimately) about. Also, on some platforms macros aren't supported so just wouldn't run. Or cells might be protected. Or the file's very large. Or has queries gathering data from other sources. Or lots of other things that could make a macro unreliable. Something outside of Excel could catch changes but why would anyone agree to run an external program just before they start editing an Excel file? Or what if they kill it? There are ways around anything like this too but the project would be growing legs. In other words, something super-secure would be tricky. Something relatively basic would be easy and fast but would not be suitable for sending out to clients, etc. This is an interesting challenge but it all depends on how exactly the file is to be worked with.

There isn't a function in Excel to do this to my knowledge however there is a very fast manual way to remove it on mass - just a few clicks - if you'd like me to show you that? I have spent many years with excel and I am not aware of an automatic review and remove process based on data input. Many thanks, Liam
