I’m developing a horizontal-axis wind turbine strictly for research and development and need a complete gearbox design that can reliably transmit 10–100 kW. The goal is to move from concept to a package I can hand straight to our prototype shop. You will determine the optimal gear train (likely helical or planetary), size every component for the full load spectrum, and verify it against fatigue, thermal, and noise limits. Please work in a mainstream CAD system such as SolidWorks or Inventor and back up the geometry with FEA and standards-based calculations (ISO 6336 or AGMA preferred). Deliverables • Gear ratio study and selection rationale • Detailed load, strength, and life calculations • Fully parametric 3D CAD model with assemblies and parts • Manufacturing drawings with tolerances and surface specs • Bill of materials including material grades and bearings • Validation report summarising FEA results and compliance checks Acceptance criteria The design must show a service factor suitable for field testing, meet the calculated lifespan targets, and be ready for machining without further re-work. If you have previous wind-turbine gearbox experience, please mention it and share a sample of your engineering package.
