Background to NDP3:
NDP3 is a speech and language therapy programme ([url removed, login to view]). It contains around 750 line-art images for use in therapy.
What we're doing:
We are introducing a CD-based application that allows people to use NDP3 images on-screen, colour them, add text - and so create 'customised' therapy materials. Samples attached.
What we have:
The 750 images are in SWF format, on two layers - an 'outline' layer and a 'fill' layer. The fill layer contains a number of 'fill' objects, which can be coloured within the application. Sample attached.
What we need
We'd like to add a screensaver to the application. We hope that it will offer a pleasing/amusing/entertaining animation and the therapist will leave it idling in the background. We would like to make use of the images we have, in colour, and make a discreet reference to the application title.
That said, we have no preconceptions. The screensaver can be and do anything. It could be one simple implementation, or an interactive, user-defined experience. It is essential that the implementation is suitable for a therapy environment and children from 2-7 years.
We have considered images that float around like leaves in 3D; canon ‘fires’ images; images distort to bubbles and float up in wobbly formation; image dominoes set themselves up and knock themselves down; images bounce across screen, as though the screen was a trampoline; images make a self-solving jigsaw. We are open to any suggestions.
The code and any other material will be integrated into the app by the existing developer.
When we need it
We're flexible, but would expect the project to take no longer than 4 weeks.
