We have a current simple web application written in .Net 1.1. The webpage shows the user the upcoming events broken down by date with a form to input varios information (including their name) as well as select an Event with Associated Date/Time. User clicks submit and receives an email with what the event information (his info gets stored in a SQL server database). They are also taken to a page that shows a flash image with their event and date/time and name. This works because the form passes a number variable associated with the dorp down selection and passes it the flash which has a simple script that conditionally dispalys various events/times based on the number passed. The user can also invite a friend which also generates a similar email.
This is what we have now. The change required to be done is as follows:
1) Change application to .Net 2.0 (from .net 1.1)
2) Currently we are hard coding code in the forms and in the flash with the event and date/time. SO anytime a new event has to be added it becomes a little irritating as it needs to be changed in multiple places. So we want it dynamic so the drop down are autopopulated. However, instead of from a database (which would require a backend to modify event info), we want to keep it simple and have a simple config file where we could simply edit and add events and date/times for the events. In terms of event and date/time getting displayed in the flash. We could potentially pass all the info via the form or url (in addition to the name... but that may encounter parsing issues) OR it could use actionscript to pull the info from the config file as well.
