Full-Stack Developer Needed – Add Inventory & Order Management Module to Existing Web System Project Overview I am looking for an experienced full-stack developer to develop and integrate a new Inventory & Order Management module into an existing web-based system that is currently being developed by another freelancer. This is NOT a project to build a completely new system from scratch. We already have an existing web application, codebase, database and hosting environment. I want the new developer to review the existing system and determine the best way to integrate the new module into it. The existing system is currently built using: [login to view URL] React TypeScript Supabase / PostgreSQL Tailwind CSS GitHub Node.js VPS hosting The existing developer has provided technical documentation covering the current code structure, GitHub repository, VPS and technology stack. I can provide this documentation to shortlisted candidates. What I Need I am looking for a simple, clean and easy-to-use inventory system for managing our physical trophy stock. The basic concept is: Record incoming stock See current available stock Deduct stock when items are taken for production Temporarily place stock "On Hold" for potential customer orders Convert confirmed orders into actual orders Track basic order information and payment status See who performed each stock movement Have a clear dashboard showing the overall inventory situation The system should be designed for normal office staff who are not technically trained, so simplicity and ease of use are very important. I am not looking for a complicated ERP or accounting system. Dashboard & UI/UX The system should have a clean dashboard where management/staff can immediately understand the current stock situation. For example, we would like to have an overview such as: Total Stock | Available | On Hold | Low Stock | Out of Stock The exact layout and design are open to your recommendation. I have not used many inventory systems before, so I would appreciate a developer who can also provide good UI/UX recommendations, rather than simply building whatever is technically easiest. The interface should be: Clean Modern Simple Uncluttered Easy to read at a glance Easy for staff to navigate Integration With Existing System This is an important part of the project. The new module should ideally integrate with the existing system rather than operate as a separate application. The selected developer will first need to review the existing codebase and advise: Whether the inventory module can be integrated cleanly Whether the existing database can be extended Whether the existing login/user system can be reused How the new module should fit into the existing application Whether there are any technical risks or concerns The existing system should not be negatively affected by the new development. Existing System & Backup Before making any changes to the live system, I want the existing code and database properly backed up and the development work carried out safely. The developer should be comfortable working with: GitHub Existing codebases Database backups Development/staging environments VPS deployment I would like the freelancer to explain their recommended approach for protecting the existing system before development begins. Previous Work / Portfolio – Important I would like to see actual examples of systems you have previously developed, particularly: Inventory systems Stock management systems Order management systems Business management dashboards Similar web applications Please provide screenshots, videos, demos or portfolio links where possible. I am particularly interested in seeing the UI/dashboard design of systems you have previously built. I have not used a dedicated inventory system before, so seeing your previous work will help me understand what is possible and what design approach you would recommend.

When integrating a new module into an existing system, the key challenge is maintaining stability while enhancing functionality. I understand the importance of making sure your currnet setup remains unaffected during this process. Safe staging build: full module developed in a private staging environment first. Codebase review: analyze existing system for integration points and potential risks. Database extension: assess if the current database can accommodate new inventory features. User system reuse: determine if the existing login system can be used for the new module. To avoid any disruption, I will back up your existing code and database before starting any developement, making sure your live system remains intact throughout the process. Could you clarify if you have any specific design preferences for the dashboard layout? Rajavel

Hello, Main risk is schema and auth drift when adding an Inventory & Order Management module to an active React + TypeScript + Supabase/PostgreSQL app: adding stock tables and order flows without atomic updates can lead to oversells and break existing user sessions or permissions. I will prioritize safe migrations, explicit transaction handling, and reuse of your current user system so staff experience remains simple. I have built backend-first integrations and user-facing dashboards in similar stacks, including a payroll API and a mission-critical tax filing system that required zero-downtime DB changes and clear staff UIs. I've implemented inventory/order features before: stock tables with availability logic, order lifecycle states, and staff dashboards built in React + TypeScript with Tailwind CSS, using Node.js endpoints and Postgres transactions to avoid race conditions. My first concrete step is a focused codebase review and a backup+branch strategy: take a snapshot of the DB, create a feature branch, map existing auth/users, then add minimal DB objects and API endpoints for stock and orders. I will implement server-side transactions (SELECT FOR UPDATE, or Supabase Row Level Security checks) and deliver simple React UI components for staff to record stock, view availability, and process orders. - Do you prefer feature work on a forked repo or a new branch in the main repo? - Are there existing order statuses and workflows I should match, or should I propose a minimal 4-state flow (new, reserved, shipped, returned)? Sincerely, Thomas Beigbeder

Because another freelancer is already building the main system, the success of this job depends on how well the inventory module is merged into the current architecture, not just how the UI looks. The important part is designing stock states that are easy for staff to understand while still giving you reliable movement history, hold status, order conversion, and user accountability. I’d review the current app structure first, then recommend the safest integration path, database additions, and rollout process before touching live data. My background fits this kind of work: extending existing web systems with admin dashboards, operational modules, and structured backend logic rather than spinning up disconnected side apps. That includes React-based interfaces, Node workflows, PostgreSQL data design, audit-style tracking, and safe deployment practices using repository control and backups. I’d also aim to keep the dashboard uncluttered so the important numbers are visible immediately. - Roughly how many stock items/SKUs will this module manage at launch? - Should staff be able to edit or reverse a stock movement after submission, or should that stay restricted for audit accuracy? - Will confirmed orders stay inside this system only, or eventually need invoices/shipping steps too?

Hi, Luigi Tady here, from Toronto. "Backup and Review First, Then Extend the Existing Schema" — stock staff can actually use. One risk early: your current developer is still on this codebase, so two people on one repo needs branch discipline and staging, or changes collide. My first step is a read of the repo and database, a verified backup, and written answers to your four questions before any code. I would extend the existing database, not run a separate app. Stock movements are stored as entries, not overwritten totals, so you see who moved what and when. Available, On Hold and Low Stock are views on top. Screens stay simple: receive stock, see available, deduct for production, hold for a pending order, convert to confirmed. On portfolio, my profile carries no inventory screenshots, so I will not show work that is not mine. Happy to walk through my approach on a call. One question: does the existing system already have roles, so staff and management can be separated for stock actions? Looking forward to working with you. Luigi Tady

Hi, Thanks for posting "Inventory & Order Management System Integration" — it lands right in our wheelhouse, and we'd be thrilled to bring it to life. My goal isn’t simply to finish the task, but to give you real, lasting value for every bit you invest in it. From your brief I can see this involves web app, react, node — all areas we handle in-house. We specialise in JavaScript, NoSQL Couch & Mongo, Inventory Management, Node.js, which lines up directly with what you need. How we'd approach it: - Map out the scope, pages and data models up front - Build the frontend and backend with clean, scalable code - Test across devices and browsers, then deploy - Hand over with documentation and post-launch support I’ll fold in your feedback fast and keep refining until the result feels exactly right to you. If it helps, I can share a couple of relevant samples and a short plan before you decide. Looking forward to it! I have built this exact module before, inventory syncing with order status tied together in Node and PostgreSQL. Since you already have a working system, I would start by mapping your current schema so the new module does not break existing order flows. Can start today, working version by Friday. Estimate is based on the post as written, real scope gets clearer once we talk details. Send me the repo access and I will send a plan.

Hi, I have experience developing practical business applications involving inventory workflows, order management, role-based access, dashboards, APIs, PostgreSQL, and React/TypeScript systems. A relevant example from my experience is PDV Flex, where I worked with an existing application architecture and backend/database migration, making clean integration and data consistency especially important. ? The core challenge is adding inventory and order management without disrupting the existing live system or creating unreliable stock quantities. I would first review the codebase, database structure, authentication, and deployment flow, then implement the module in an isolated, maintainable way. ✅ Inventory & Order Workflow: I can build incoming stock, available stock, on-hold quantities, production deductions, confirmed orders, payment status, low-stock alerts, and a complete stock-movement history showing which user performed each action. ✅ Safe Integration & Dashboard: I would work through Git branches and a staging environment, with code/database backups before deployment. The dashboard would give staff a simple view of Total Stock, Available, On Hold, Low Stock, and Out of Stock, while reusing the existing React, TypeScript, Supabase/PostgreSQL, and authentication architecture where appropriate. I would be happy to review the existing technical documentation and code structure before finalizing the implementation approach. Best regards, Michel.

Hi, Integrating a new Inventory & Order Management module without negatively affecting existing functionalities is critical. The challenge lies in ensuring the current code structure can support this new addition smoothly. What are the key functionalities you envision for the dashboard display? Here's how I'd do it: - Review the existing codebase and determine how to extend the Supabase/PostgreSQL database for the new module. - Design a user-friendly interface with Tailwind CSS, focusing on clarity and simplicity for non-technical staff. - Complete integration and testing, ensuring the dashboard accurately reflects inventory status and is fully functional. I can have a working version of the core inventory functionality ready on a test link within a day. What's the best way to get started on this? Toqeer S

✍️I can integrate a new Inventory & Order Management module into your existing web system while ensuring that the current setup remains intact. I understand the importance of a clean, modern, and easy-to-use inventory system for managing physical stock like your trophies. I have worked on similar projects where seamless integration with existing codebases was crucial. So I know the risks of negatively affecting the existing system during development. My approach would involve thoroughly reviewing the existing codebase to determine how the inventory module can be integrated efficiently. I would ensure the database can be extended by conducting a thorough examination of the current structure. Additionally, I would implement a backup strategy for the existing system before any changes are made. How do you envision the dashboard layout for your inventory management? Best, Kurt.

Hey — saw your post about adding an inventory and order management module to your existing web system. A common pain point with integrations like this is syncing real-time inventory without slowing down the current system. Quick question: Is your current backend API structured to handle real-time updates, or will that need to be built from scratch? I’ve integrated inventory modules into live web apps before, keeping syncing smooth and reliable. If you share your current system spec or API docs, I can take a look and suggest the best path forward.

Hi, I can integrate the Inventory & Order Management module into your existing application without disrupting the current system. I understand this is an extension of an existing codebase, not a new application from scratch. I have 8+ years of full-stack development experience with React, Node.js, Laravel, PHP, MySQL and business management systems. I’ve worked on order, payment, vendor, task and dashboard-based workflows, so the stock and order lifecycle you described is familiar. My approach would be: • First review the existing GitHub codebase, database and authentication • Create a backup and use a safe development/staging workflow • Review whether the existing user/login system can be reused • Design clean inventory flows for Incoming, Available, On Hold and Out of Stock • Implement stock movement history with user tracking • Add order creation, confirmation and payment status • Build a simple management dashboard with low-stock alerts • Integrate the module into the existing UI rather than creating a separate system • Test thoroughly before VPS deployment I’ll focus strongly on simple UI/UX for non-technical office staff, while keeping the database and business logic maintainable. I can first perform a codebase review and identify any integration risks before making changes. Bid: $165 USD Regards, TechAvinya
