Laravel Web App Upgrade and Migration and Server Modernization

Project Overview We run a Laravel-based web application currently stuck on Laravel 7.x. We're ready to bring the whole stack up to date framework, PHP, packages, and the servers it runs on. We're looking for an experienced Laravel developer to handle the upgrade end-to-end, validate it on staging, and help us deploy to production safely. Scope of Work: Framework upgrade — Laravel 7.x up to the latest stable release (12.x / 13.x). You're welcome to use Laravel Shift as a starting point, but we expect hands-on work to finish the job cleanly. PHP upgrade — bump to PHP 8.4. Package migration — several dependencies are outdated, abandoned, or incompatible. Sentry is the most notable one that will need replacing/updating. Authentication review — confirm whether our auth is standard Laravel auth or involves custom roles / groups / permissions, and migrate it accordingly. Local dev migration — move local development from Homestead → Sail (Docker). Server modernization Staging/test server: Ubuntu 20.04 → 24.04 LTS Production server: Ubuntu 18.x → 24.04 LTS Deployment — help us deploy the upgraded app, validating on our staging server before touching production. Git / GitHub cleanup — the repo was inherited and is messy (master branch far out of date). We'd appreciate guidance getting it into a healthy state.
