Hey I hope you are doing well. I'm interested in this project. I'm proficient in the relevant skills (Google Sheets, App Script). I would approach migration by probably talking to you first and getting a good idea of how the system presently works, then planning what changes should be made. If the means by which your employees will most often edit the data in these sheets is a form with a submit button, that would make role based authorization very easy because a manually invoked button click can request authorization to the users' email address which could be used to look up role and access privileges . If employee editing of sheet fields will be required, the best approach would be to require them to use a work email within sheet/app script workspace domain, so onEdit triggers will be able to query their email as well. There may be workarounds if you don't already do this (e.g. require manual auth, get temporary key, asocciate it with email, and use it in onEdit instead to look up access), but I would have to look into how well this would work.
