When you see a story in the newspaper there is often a little graphic map in the story of the area to show readers where the story is taking place.
A simple line map that gives the reader a location to relate to. The map creates a location in the viewers mind.
This is what we need. Our story takes place in Gangotri, in the Indian Himalayas. On route there were two landslides on the road which would be marked on the map.
I ofen see smaller maps inside the main map - it appears most often it's best - I often see this in newspaper and magazine articles.
So, an India overview map with the sub map in side or to the side to show the area between Delhi and the Indian Tibet border - Gangotri is 125 miles from the border at the source of the Ganges.
Experience in illustration stories or journalism graphic experience a real asset - you would know how to best show this.
You would deliver the graphic in both high resolution 300dpi Tiff for print and 72dpi for web
Please relate your experience and any related examples - this is a simple project but I want to make sure you understand journalistic graphics - So you can do this project with minimal supervision.
