Dear Freelancers The aim is to create a version of [login to view URL] with a few tweaks. As you can see its a text form based site (quite basic) A spreadsheet of politician/postcode data will be provided to be plugged into the site. A CMS will be needed for text changes etc. If this is of interest thanks if you have the chance to answer the below so we can select you to start. 1. Do you develop sites online to also be compatible with mobile phone browsing? 2. Whats best language for the long term build for this? (assuming some growth and requirement for heavy database work into the future) 3. If need be, are you fine to sign an NDA ? 4. i-Whats your experience with maintaining sites after completion. Bug fixes, updates for browsers, Flash etc? When elections, new politicians elected then the data on the site will need to be updated etc ii- Whats the cost of this maintenance? 5. What'd u do to make sure our servers are up 100% of the time? Will you be able to manage and maintain our servers ? 6. Whats your experience in security protection of websites (what would u recommend for ours?) 7. Whats your process for response times to questions/issues and how do you like to be contacted ? 8. How do you provide project updates ? Do you use online software like [login to view URL] etc or another 9. If we ask for something you haven't done before how would you approach it ? 10. Whats the estimated time to completion for such a project given your current commitments. 11. How many changes, cosmetic or major do you provide free to be fixed? hi John, here are the responses to your questions: 1. Yes 2. I recommend using Wordpress CMS 3. Yes 4. i- Bug fixes are free of charge (if these happen with signed off code). Updates to browsers? Not sure what you mean by this? I do not use flash, but rather jquery or javascript for mobile compatibility with Android and IOS. Updates with Wordpress CMS, can be performed by any person. ii- Apart of free bug fixes, the hourly rate is 25$ per hour. 5. I do not do server maintenance. For this task you should find an appropriate person with corresponding skill set. 6. Not sure i understand security question? Can you be more specific? 7. Response time, usually, is of about 2 hours. (On weekends, there is a variable response, but pretty much i'm online if the situation requires it) 8. Website should run smoothly to latest wordpress cms. Only when Wordpress CMS gets updated with a feature / code that puts theme code in incompatibility, then this should be reported to me so i can make specific changes. 9. It depends. 10. Hi I'm a Web application developer with my own company formed of myself (backed development) and a front end developer. 1) Yes we do. We use Angular and bootstrap to ensure that our User interfaces work with mobile devices 2) We build using the Django framework. It is python based. This is a full stack framework capable of dealing with huge applications 3) Not a problem 4) Prior to setting up my own company I wrote ans supported a full school MIS system. We use Git to maintain copies and releases of software. As to updating for new politicians etc, we use good design principles so that such items come from the database and never hard coded. ii)I understand the cost of maintenance thus will design a system with minimum maintenance costs. 5) We would use Amazon web Sevices to host your system. This is the best and most stable cloud system you will find. Yes, we can monitor and maintain them 6) My front end designer doubles as a Linux security box expert. Also AWS has excellent security protocols. The only other thing is to purchase a good SSL certificate. 7) We work mostly through Google Hangouts, or Skype. We can discuss the required support hours and SLA's on response times as they will be different for different situations. 8) We use Git via BitBucket 9) research, review, and experiment before agreeing the work. We will not agree to something we cannot do. 10) We can start in 10 days 11) We will budget and agree with you the selected time for front end development
