I'm a software developer that's been asked by a client to do a job that's a little outside my usual area of expertise. I'm web/database programmer and do lots of programming in many languages, but I don't get much into the realm of programming that involves graphics manipulation.
My client, a graphics design firm, has landed a contract to do a large number of templated websites. Since they aren't being paid much per site, they have asked us to create a web-based application where they can enter some data, click submit, and the application will automatically set up and create the website based on their input.
This is mostly a pretty trivial problem and we have code to do the everything, except for the following piece:
On the top of each page is a graphic that contains the name of the people participating in an event, and the date and location of their event. I must create an automated process that will take my client's plain website graphic and embed text onto it. Since there's several hundred of these sites that need to be generated, they want this done automatically so they don't have to pay a graphic artist to manually create all each graphic. My problem is that it's not plain text that needs to be embedded, but text that has the following special effects done to it:
bevel and emboss
An example of the text I'm going to be putting on the site can be found at the following location: <[url removed, login to view]> (Note: this is just the text and doesn't include the graphics that are supposed to be in the background.)
I'm looking for a COM object that I can install on the web server that can, based on some parameters, generate the graphics using the desired font and special effects and place it in the correct directory on the web server. My client is hoping to develop a graphics tool that can support other effects in the future, so he's looking for something that's somewhat generic rather than specific to this application.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site).
