I am Jackson Mann. I am a video contractor, meaning that I produce various types of videos for different clients around the world, mostly for use in advertisements and promotional videos.
Recently, I was contacted by a larger YouTube channel that does ASMR videos. If you're not aware of what ASMR is, I'd recommend you Googling it and seeing for yourself what it is! It's one of those things you just have to experience, haha. But, in essence, it is just videos of relaxing things or relaxing sounds that people often fall asleep to, or just listen to, to reduce stress. Anyways, this particular channel does ASMR videos around salon activities such as shampooing or message or even haircuts. Apparently people love the experience of getting pampered at the salon-- I can't blame them, haha.
I digress... They approached me and wanted to know if I would film my own shampoo video for their channel. Basically, they want me to film someone getting their hair shampooed, message and all, along with the sounds of the shampoo, of course. This is an exciting opportunity for me and my company and I am curious to see if you'd be willing to partner for this. They requested that the shampoo be done on a woman, young to middle aged. Apparently, the longer hair is better for the lather.
My idea is this: I was thinking I could set up my equipment in a local Greeneville salon that I would rent out, and I would shampoo your hair for you, moving the camera periodically for different angles, etc. I have spoken with them (the owners of the channel) about doing something like this idea and they think it would work very well! I, too, think it could work out really well and even the lighting in the particular salon I would rent is really good and neutral-- perfect for filming.
Doing this job really works out as I actually have experience shampooing hair as I worked at my aunt's salon as a shampoo technician for a few months while in highschool! I remember getting a few good tips even, haha.
This may come across as a little bit of a random job, and I do apologize if so! It's just that I wasn't sure how to actually go about filming someone just randomly getting their hair shampooed in a salon, then I thought that hiring a local model and doing the shampoo myself would be best.
Anyways, I am curious to hear your thoughts! Pricing wise, I would be able to pay you around $200-$250 for the hour or so of your time for the production. Again, I know it's a smaller project, but I am sure any additional experience helps further both our careers. Let me know what you think!
