Build a FileMaker Pro database, using FileMaker Script to automate some calculations.
The database will be used in our home office to organize contacts, remind us of appointments and administer resources. It is for local use, single-user, and small in size.
It will consist of 12 tables with up to 15 columns each. The user interface will consist of 2 main screen layouts, using tabs to hide/disclose up to 2 levels of detail.
Before you start working, you will receive a full, semi-formalized database definition, including
- a normalized table/relation diagram (simplified ERD),
- a typed list of field names and field descriptions,
- a verbal description of use cases (in English),
- mock-ups of all screen layouts.
I will ask you to hold firm contact with me during work, to make sure everything will run as specified. You will deliver an open database, allowing me to make further changes and adjustments (not a compiled program). The database should run under FM Pro 9 (preferably, it should be compatible with FM Pro 8, too) on both
Windows and Mac platforms.
