I’m re-imagining a vending machine from the inside out and need an industrial designer who already understands the nuts and bolts of automated retail. The brief is simple: rethink the entire working core—dispensing mechanism, payment flow, and product storage—so the machine feels fresh, intuitive, and memorable for end-users. The priority is user experience. Every decision, from how products travel through the machine to how payments clear, should shorten wait time, minimise jams, and create a moment of “wow” for customers who expect modern, friction-free interactions. Here’s how I see the milestones: • Early concept sketches that visualise new internal layouts and kinematics • Detailed CAD (SolidWorks or similar) of each subsystem, ready for mechanical review • A consolidated assembly model showing integration points for electronics, sensors, and future casings • Material and component recommendations that balance durability with cost-effectiveness • A brief manufacturability review so we know the design can move straight into prototyping If you’ve previously engineered vending, kiosk, or robotics hardware—and have the portfolio to prove clever dispensing or smart payment integration—I’d love to collaborate and push this idea forward.
