In this case study we aim to create the simulation model of single product supply chain system in Arena. The supply chain will have 4 nodes. The first node of the supply chain will be the Factory where the goods from raw material will be produced. The raw materials will be released to the factory only when it is required it is required. When the products are produced at the factory they are stored in factory. Production will made only when the inventory level of the factory is below the reorder point. Next, when the inventory level of the second node in the supply chain, supplier, is below the reorder point, order to factory is sent to deliver goods. The supplier sends the goods to third node in the supply chain, which is the distributor, when order from received distributor is received. The order from distributor to supplier is created when the inventory level of the distributor is below the reorder point. The distributor dispatches goods to final node in the supply chain which is the retailer. Customers arrive to the retail shop and make purchases if the item is in inventory. Otherwise the sales opportunity is lost. When the inventory of the retail shop is below the reorder point, the retailer creates order to distributor and good will be dispatched from distributor to retail shop.
By building this simulation model in Arena we aim to better understand the dynamics of a simple single product supply chain and pull system
