Scope of Work


Our business is 100% Web based. Owner sell goods mainly in the USA, but has customers all over the world. Orders are received from websites & goods are shipped to customers.

Owner has several websites which are similar &/or complimentary. One website is prominent & produces over 90% of sales.

Owner believes that product images have been important & produced many Clicks which helped drive web traffic in the past.

In prior years, google rankings were adequate to allow our business to do well.

Our business sales rose from 2005-2010, but declined since 2010. In 2013, sales declined dramatically, with largest drop occurring in past 6 months.

Upon investigation, owner noticed goggle presence declined dramatically. Owner also noticed that Bing presence still about equal to google presence prior to dramatic decline. Conclusion:Something is horribly wrong with our Google rankings.

Owner set up a Google Webmaster Tools Account & a Bing Webmaster Tools Account.

Owner discovered that Owner had a canonicalization issue. Owner attempted to fix this by taking these actions:

1) Owner changed preferences in GWT account to www.

2) Owner placed htaccess. file in our root directory to redirect everything to www.

3) Owner changed all links on all pages to add the www.

4) Owner submitted sitemaps for urls & images.

Owner believe that perhaps some of our prominent pages were being penalized by Google which may have blocked them from Google Impressions. Owner suspects this because using certain search terms would result in pages with irrelevant content ranked higher on Google than our primary page for that product. Some primary pages do not rank at all.

Owner has never engaged in any SEO activity for websites in the past. Owner always relied on natural content & customer postings on Bulletin Boards to produce Search Engine rankings. Now, owner believes that SEO is essential to business.

Scope Of Work (for SEO Contractor)

1) Set up GWT & BWT accounts properly.

A) Fix canonicalization issue. Verify issue is resolved.

B) Set up various tools in so Owner can monitor progress using Search Queries.

C) Prepare & submit proper sitemaps for all site URL's & image links. Verify that sitemaps are 100% indexed.

D) Work with Owner to show how to properly prepare & submit sitemaps.

2) ON-PAGE OPTIMIZATION - Consult with owner to change web pages so they are SEO friendly. Owner will work with SEO Contractor on this. SEO Contractor to teach owner proper requirements for 10 pages & Owner shall complete the work for the remaining 90 webpages. This includes:

A) Eliminating all SEO errors (10 pages):

i) Adding & fixing tags...H1 ..Body tags.. Alt tags

ii) Fixing / adding Meta tags..length issues, duplicate keywords, etc..

B) Optimizing pages for SEO keyword phrases to improve search ranking (10 Pages).

C) Setting up the pages so that the impression is displayed properly in the Google search results (10 Pages).

D) Checking page links & pages for spamming or other possible violations (10 pages).

E) Check & verify that pages are not being penalized by Google or Bing.

Owner to assist as needed in this process.

Project Management & Reporting

SEO Contractor shall allot a dedicated Project Manager for the project to provide all updates & communications to the owner. SEO Contractor shall provide Owner with a consolidated work-done report on a weekly basis at the end of every week. Project manager to provide email & instant messaging contact to Owner. Project manager to be available for at least 8 hours each day for possible communications. Project should be completed in 2-4 weeks.


Owner shall pay 100% upon satisfactory completion of Tasks 1 & 2.

Owner has many websites. Successful work on this project will result in extended maintenance on this site. Off Page Optimization. SEO ranking of keyword phrases, plus added work to complete SEO for other sites.
